The City of Houston is large and spread out in all directions. As of 2013, it’s the 4th largest city within the United States and its development is barely restricted by the pure border of the Gulf of Mexico to the southeast. It continues to grow by leaps and bounds to the north, west and southwest and shows no quick indications of slowing that growth any time soon.
Seems McMillan hit the jackpot with Joe Beef. It was an instantaneous hit, the tiny restaurant a favourite for its get together vibe, top-notch oysters and large, carefully-prepared dishes. Great oysters. Scrumptious wine by the glass! And essentially the most excellent grilled octopus, previously poached in wine, with peeled yellow and red cherry tomatoes, the purest expression of late summer, all of the garlicky goodness of the sauce enveloping the tender tentacles. Yum.
