King Road-Old City is an island platformed Washington Metro station in Alexandria, Virginia , United States. The station opened on December 17, 1983, and is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Space Transit Authority (WMATA). Providing service for each the Blue and Yellow Lines, this is the southernmost transfer station for the Blue and Yellow traces, as the two traces converge just south of the station. During inclement weather, Crystal Metropolis is commonly used as an unofficial switch point, being the southernmost underground station common to both traces. King Street was initially served solely by the Yellow Line, till the Blue Line was prolonged from Nationwide Airport to Van Dorn Avenue in 1991.
