Hello thanks for this great article. I am trying to resolve between Hawaii and Thailand for a few weeks subsequent Christmas/New 12 months. (Purely to attempt all these tropical fruits) Do you have got any info on what is in season around that time and would the Big Island be the most effective place to get them (particularly natural grown).
This one requires some clarification. The season of Summer time was known to the Hawaiians by the solstices (they were very conscious of astronomical occurrences), but the word for it’s a normal time period referring to the time between the solstice and the Makahiki. So, it is not the everyday three month interval as it’s within the Mainland. The word for the season can be Kauwela, (generally written as Kau wela, each are appropriate).
